CFLs work well for Arizona Public Service
Arizona Public Service customers are benefitting from a residential energy efficient lighting program that has already saved 906 million kWh of energy annually.
The program, created by Ecova and Arizona Public Service in 2005, focuses on building relationships with retailers and their suppliers to implement discounts on compact fluorescent bulbs for customers, as well as raising awareness of the benefits of CFLs. So far, APS has sold 17 million CFL bulbs through its APS Residential Energy Efficient Lighting Program.
The APS program is considered by some to be one of the most successful utility-sponsored energy-efficiency product programs in the country, marked by awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, including the Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award.
