Constellation nets 2.7M MWh power deal
Constellation has been selected by the Texas Public Power Pool (P3), the Texas aggregator purchasing power for approximately 69 local governments and public entities, to supply P3 members electricity for the next three years.
After a competitive bidding process, Constellation was selected to supply P3 members with 2.7 million megawatt- hours of electricity. The three-year agreement with Constellation, which begins in 2014, provides a commodity supply rate that is 31 percent lower than the commodity component of their electricity costs under their current contract.
Not only will Constellation help members meet their procurement goals but will develop and implement strategies to better manage their overall energy use through energy-efficiency measures. Constellation can also help them to earn additional revenue through participation in load response programs.
To date, P3 has saved its members more than $131,289,954.
