EnerNOC prioritizes school's energy efficiency
Plymouth Public Schools has added EnerNOC's EfficiencySMART solution to streamline energy-efficiency initiatives across the district. The district is already using the company's DemandSMART solution for demand response and will apply its quarterly demand response payments toward the implementation of EfficiencySMART. Channeling its regular demand response payments directly into energy-efficiency budgets doubles the district's return on investment.
The new solution obtains real-time meter data from a variety of sources so the district can compare and optimize energy usage across different facilities and to energy benchmarks. Advanced analytics report actionable and inexpensive efficiency recommendations that are prioritized by return on investment.
"We compared EfficiencySMART with other energy-efficiency products. EnerNOC's technology is not only more advanced, but it's also the least capital-intensive due to our demand response relationship," said Chris Hastings, Plymouth Public Schools' Energy Manager, in a statement. "EfficiencySMART allows us to use our existing meters to target and achieve additional energy savings, and it made perfect sense to re-invest our demand response revenue in increased energy efficiency."
The district should see a payback in less than 12 months.
