Exelon sells off Maryland Clean Coal
Exelon has sold its three Maryland coal-fired power plants to Raven Power Holdings, fulfilling Exelon's commitment to divest the plants as part of its its March 2012, $7.9 billion merger with Constellation.
The three plants, known collectively as Maryland Clean Coal, include Brandon Shores (1,273 MW); C.P. Crane (399 MW); H.A. Wagner (976 MW).
The sale was required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, U.S. Department of Justice and the Maryland Public Service Commission as part of Exelon's merger agreement.
The deal was reported to have cost around $400 million.
